Gay Shopping in Rio - What to Buy and Where!
Rio is one of the most affordable shopping cities in South America. The shops are sophisticated, inspiring and full of character. The shopping malls in Rio are huge. Barra Shopping for instance has over 600 stores.Ipanema, Leblon and Copacababna are perfect for going window shopping on your way to the beach. You can always pop back later on to do some spending.
The main shopping area in Ipanema is Rua Visconde de Piraja. If you like your bling, then hed for Garcia d'Avila with some superb jewellery stores catering to high-end clients. In Leblon check out Rua Ataulfo de Paiva, Rua Dias Ferreira for an eclectic mix of shops, boutiques and cafes. In Copacabana, head for Av. Nossa Senhora de Copacabana and Rua Barata Ribeiro. Don't fotget to ceck out the cross streets to find some hidden gems!

Barra Shopping mall, at Barra da Tijuca featuring internationally known luxury brands such as Armani Exchange, Sara Chofakian, and places for leisure and entertainment, such as movie theatres with 3D technology, restaurants and theatres. IT is also one of the biggest shopping centres in Latin America, so iots a good way to spend a rainy day, if you do manage to catch a shower when in Rio.
A great shopping street is Rua Garcia D'Avila in Ipanema with every kind of store you'd ever want.
One that says Brazil all over it is H. Stern, a gem and jewelry store which began in Rio and spread all over the world.
