Bar Bofetada, is a basic but very gay-popular, open-air eatery. It is a great place to relax after a day on the beach and enjoy a beer and some typical Brazilian cuisine.

Bar d’Hotel is where stylish diners flock to! This bar/restaurant, located in the Marina All-Suites Hotel offers great cuising and superb service.

Cipriani is set in the Copacabana Palace,offering a taste of old-school elegance, with gourmet Italian cuisine.

Ride up in one of the old-fashioned, manually operated elevators, and you just might think you’ve traveled back in time. Confiteria Colombo is an historic eatery, in the city center, known for its tasty Brazilian/Portuguese lunch buffet.

La Plancha is a Spanish-style eatery offering delicous paella and tasty beef and seafood dishes. Restaurant is basic but food is wonderful and prices are a bargin.

Marius is a gay-friendly churrascaria (Brazilian barbecue restaurant), serving up an unending array of beef, pork, chicken, and other delicacies.

Satyricon is one of the top restaurants in the city with artfully presented fusion cuisine attracting an array of celebrity diners.

Restaurants such as “Gero”, in Ipanema, specialized in Italian cuisine and “Aprazível”, in Santa Teresa, are highly favoured by gay tourists visiting the city. Besides those, “Zazá”, in Ipanema and “Alessandro e Frederico”, in Leblon, are also highly recommended.

  • Rodizio - The Brazilian steakhouse

    Visit a Rodizio or Brazilian steakhouse where the servers bring different kinds of meat preparations to your table until you flip over the card to red indicating you are not taking more servings. They also include a buffet of salads, sides and sushi with your ticket of $40-45 per person. Radizio style restaurants have been imitated across the world and are becoming increasingly popular for upscale dining.

  • Dining Times

    Restaurants open for dinner from 7pm onward. Many of the busier ones require reservations at the weekend! Most people dine from 8 or 9pm on. Many restaurants will open late!
